TWO birthday cards were posted in Telford on Wednesday, one for Hereford 66 miles away, the other for Melbourne, 10,000 miles away. There was a first-class stamp on the one for Hereford. Melbourne cost £1.67.

CAN any of your readers give me one very good reason for having a bonfire? On Monday, I came home to find someone in the Cliveden Road area having a bonfire which stank to high heaven. Having gone to find the person and ask them to stop no-one could be found.

Mum’s treatment is not good enough

ON Saturday, July 26, I took my disabled mother to Hereford. This was the first time on over a year that she had felt well enough to manage a shopping trip and we left it until mid-afternoon when we knew parking would be easier.
