LEOMINSTER Town’s newly formed reserve side kicked off the first of three pre-season friendlies with a hard fought 1-0 win against local rivals Shobdon.

With James Webb-Davies in charge of team affairs, Town formed a reasonably cohesive unit with Ian Lane and Neil Littleworth working well together in midfield and up front Ryan Mcstay was a constant threat to the home side.

In an evenly matched game the deadlock was eventually broken in the 80th minute when Aiden Price latched on to a quickly-taken free-kick and sealed victory with a fierce low drive.

Town begin their Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division programme on Saturday by hosting Ledbury Town Reserves.
