Ledbury Town 2 Bromyard Town 3.
BROMYARD Town made the short trip to New Street and fought back from a very early two goal deficit to take their place in the preliminary qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Only three minutes had elapsed when Ledbury’s Jamie Welch scored with a close range glancing header from Joel Skyers’s right wing cross.
The home side’s explosive start continued in the seventh minute when skipper Duncan Preedy gave goalkeeper Darren Khurek no chance with a masterful lob from the left-hand edge of the penalty area.
Bromyard reduced the arrears on 21 minutes when Andy Malcolm scored from eight yards. The same player skied a glorious chance to equalise nine minutes later and the teams went in at half-time with Ledbury holding a 2-1 advantage.
After seeing a 25-yard shot go narrowly wide, Malcolm duly completed his brace on 56 minutes when Bromyard’s Luke Towler was impeded by Mike Cole in the box and he confidently dispatched the resulting penalty.
Adie Hodges made an excellent point-blank range from Towler following good work by Matthew Graham on the left. But the visitors were not to be denied, and after 70 minutes the turnaround was complete when Rob Woodward nipped in with a glancing near post header from Graham’s pacy corner.
Ledbury have now therefore conceded eleven goals in their first three games, and although Preedy had a goal disallowed for offside, Bromyard’s superb comeback enabled them to now look forward to a home tie against Barwell.
