A CHANCE visit to Herefordshire has given a Southerner a taste of success.
Natalie Green was given plenty of food for thought during last month's Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival.
But the foodie, from Crawley, West Sussex, now has plenty more to savour after winning a hamper stuffed with the county's finest produce. She was named the lucky winner in a raffle provided by the Slow Food stall, and returns to Herefordshire on Friday, November 23 to claim her winnings.
The victor will be staying with Slow Food Herefordshire member, Pearl Taylor, who runs a Tudor farmhouse bed & breakfast in Kinnersley. According to Pearl, the winner was heading home from Chester, but was tempted by the festival signs to make a detour.
"Natalie only dropped in on the festival on spec, and had never been to the county before, so she is pretty chuffed to be invited back down," said Pearl.
"We're now packing up the hamper so Natalie can take all her goodies back to Sussex."
